The inhabitants are exceptionally creative and surprisingly strong. Sometimes they fly.

Mission:

 

Welcome to planetmKiK.com! We gather here to celebrate and promote the dance and choreography of a unique artist - Mark Kenneth Ioane Kanemura (mKiK). It’s amazing when a single artist can inspire so much in others - but that’s what Mark has done. He makes us all want to find our own individual planet, where creativity and heart shine out with the brightest of lights!

 

We also seek to encourage other artists - especially those dancer’s closest to Mark’s heart. So please visit this site’s Way Station (the t-shirt shop, and other assorted goodies, yet to come). A portion of each purchase will go to 24-VII, Mark’s dance studio. There’s also a way for you to contribute directly if you wish. Just click on the “PayPal DONATE” button at the top of the Donate & Support page.

 

So come - join us. Have a conversation, pull up a chair. Share your thoughts about this talented, brilliant man. Tell us how he’s moved or inspired you or your friends. Stay a while. You never know what you may find!

 

Vision:

 

In creating planetmKiK, we envisioned a community where other like-minded (and similarly quirky) beings could gather to express themselves in total harmony. Over at the planetmKiK Forum (nicknamed “The Wormhole”), we not only discuss all forms of Mark-related minutiae - but also share our talents. So come join us - bring your insights on dance, music, painting, sculpture, poetry, prose, crafts...any form of creative expression. All are welcome here. After all, we share one thing in common: Mark Kanemura is the sun we gravitate towards. It’s his light we flutter around. So yes, we’re wearing “Mark Goggles”, and making no excuses for it!

On October 24, 2008, planetmKiK donated $183.60 to 24-VII Danceforce, made possible by planetmKiKers purchasing t-shirts in our shop. Thank you one and all!

A new page: “Pre & Post SYTYCD”, replaced five separate pages: “Mark & Other Dancers”, “Friends & Ohana”, “Windward Mall”, “Mark with Fans”, and “Miscellaneous”. On the new page, all except “Miscellaneous” have working PhotoBucket links.
